London Fashion Week Collections

FALL/WINTER 2014/2015

A new generation of strong designers

The London Fashion Week, where the fall collections were shown,  has come to an end. Noteworthy is the fact that a number of designers, that were 5 till 10 years ago still young and came rushing along, have developed into serious players in the high fashion regions. Each of them with their own signature, but all of them with fearless visions in respect of material, colour, silhouettes, decoration and innovation. London remains  the nursery for talent and gets hold of an ever stronger position on the international fashion calendar.

Vivienne Westwood
Dame Vivienne Westwood, (born Vivienne Isabel Swire on 8 April 1941) is an English fashion designer and businesswoman, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream.
Westwood came to public notice when she made clothes for Malcolm McLaren’s boutique in the King’s Road, which became famous as "SEX". It was their ability to synthesise clothing and music that shaped the 1970s UK punk scene, dominated by McLaren's band, the Sex Pistols.  She was deeply inspired by the shock-value of punk - "seeing if one could put a spoke in the system".
